Zoom becomes Formula 1 official UC Partner

Formula 1 and Zoom, a video communications provider, have announced to enter into a multi-year partnership, which will begin from the 2021 FIA Formula One World Championship season.

The two parties had already collaborated in the 2020 season for the Virtual Paddock Club experience, which will continue this season as part of the new deal.

After this, in the 21 races in the 2021 season, guests can join the Virtual Paddock Club through Zoom and could experience a range of bespoke virtual hospitality offerings which will include live updates and insight from leading personalities from the sport.

A statement issued said: “Zoom will deliver comprehensive communications services and is working with Formula 1 to provide new business and hospitality opportunities through unique live-sport experiences during and beyond the ongoing pandemic.”

Speaking on the development, Director of Commercial Partnerships for Formula 1, Ben Pincus, said: “We are delighted to be expanding this partnership with Zoom, following the work they did with the Virtual Paddock Club last year. The Zoom team will deliver UC services for the full Formula 1 company, helping the brand to continue its digital transformation.”

On the other hand, Janine Pelosi, CMO of Zoom said: “We’re proud to partner with F1® and use our brand and technology to shape the future of sports events while also supporting organizations on their mission to become more sustainable.”
