Tom Moody named director of cricket by Sunrisers Hyderabad

Former Aussie international Tom Moody has been appointed as the director of cricket for the Indian Premier League 2021 by Sunrisers Hyderabad. The franchise took to Twitter to confirm the development on Tuesday, 15th December 2020.

Moody was associated with the Sunrisers Hyderabad till the 2019 season for a tenure of 7 years. Under his guidance, the team lifted the 2016 IPL trophy led by skipper David Warner. For a fact, during the 55-year-old’s time as the Sunrisers’ head coach, the team managed to reach the play-offs five times.

However, Moody was replaced by England’s World Cup-winning coach Trevor Bayliss for this year’s IPL campaign. The orange and black army reached the playoffs this year too but was knocked out by Delhi Capitals in Qualifier 2 at the Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi.
