Sony Sports to air India women’s historic maiden pink-ball test along with 3 T20Is in 4 languages

Sony Pictures Sports Network (SPSN) is geared to cheer for the #SuperWomenInBlue during their ongoing high-octane series against Australia.

To ensure that the viewers feel closer to the action and enjoy the historic one-off pink ball Day-Night Test Match and 3 T20I matches, Sony Sports will broadcast the matches in four languages – SONY SIX channel in English, SONY TEN 3 channel in Hindi and SONY TEN 4 channel in Tamil & Telugu from September 30, 2021 as well as live streamed on its on-demand OTT platform Sony LIV.

The series has raised a lot of interest amongst the viewers as it will be the first time that the Indian Women’s team will play a day-night pink ball test.

In order to boost Indian Women’s Cricket and ensure a wider reach for the game, Sony Sports has announced the return of Extraaa Innings studio show along with telecast of the matches in four languages. The studio show will feature various former cricketers like Saba Karim, Nooshin Al-Khadeer, Vivek Razdan and WV Raman as well as ace commentator Raman Bhanot along with prominent presenter Atish Thukral.

While Nooshin Al-Khadeer will be a part of the panel during the test match, others will provide interesting and real time insights during the Test and all 3 T20I matches.

WV Raman along with Vidyut Sivaramakrishnan, Aarti Sankaran and Srinivasan Seshadri will be seen doing Tamil commentary while C. Venkatesh, Sandeep Kumar and Vijay Mahavadi will feature in the Telugu commentary box for the Test match and 3 T20I matches. RJ Hemanth will also be seen doing Telugu language commentary during the one-off test match.

To further amplify the excitement and back the Indian Women’s cricket team, Sony Sports channels had launched #SuperWomenInBlue campaign. The campaign calls out to every Indian cricket fan to support the Indian Women’s cricket team and cheer for them as they prepare to conquer the series Down Under.

After halting Australia’s victory bandwagon after 26 consecutive ODI wins, thereby closing the ODI series with a win in the 3rd ODI after losing the first two ODIs, Team India has displayed great fighting spirit and made the world take notice of their undeniable potential. The team will now look to conquer their maiden pink ball day-night test to register a historic victory.

Commenting on the development, Rajesh Kaul, Chief Revenue Officer, Distribution and Head – Sports Business, Sony Pictures Networks India, said: “2021 has been a year of outstanding achievements for Indian athletes and we have witnessed Indian women raising the bar at the global stage on multiple occasions. All eyes will now be on the Indian women’s cricket team as they prepare to play their first ever historic pink ball Day-Night Test against Australia in their backyard.”

“As the official broadcaster, we are delighted to announce the language feeds for the series as we aim to reach a wider audience and provide unparalleled viewing experience as the entire nation gears to support the Women in Blue at this historic tour,” he added.

While the first Test will be held from Sep 30 in Carrara Oval, Queensland, the three T20Is will also be held on September 7, 9 and 10 at the same venue.
