Rishabh Pant tests positive for Covid-19 in England

India’s wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant has reportedly tested positive for Covid-19 in England and is currently in isolation.

Pant hd taken a Covid test eight days back and after being posiyive, he will now not travel with the rest of the Indian squad to Durham, where the team is set to play a practice match ahead of the five-match Test series against England, starting in August.

Earlier on May 13, Pant took his first dose of Covid vaccine.

He was recently spotted at London’s Wembley Stadium during a Euro 2020 match between hosts England and Germany.

Notably, the India players were give a 20-day break after competing in the World Test Championship (WTC) final against New Zealand in Southampton.

Meanwhile, reports further said that no other Indian player has been affected by the virus as none of the other was with Pant at the hotel he was staying in England.

The Virat Kohli-led Team India will play a practice match against Durham before the five-match Test rubber against England.

The practice game will begin on July 20.
