Raina follows Dhoni into retirement from international cricket

Suresh Raina had followed his captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni to bid adieu to international cricket.

In a rare example of two greats leaving the global cricket scene simultaneously, Raina announced his retirement an hour after Dhoni had taken to social media call curtains on his career with the Indian national team.

Raina has openly credited Dhoni as the best captain to have played under; even in his retirement message, Raina was grateful to the legendary leader.

“It was nothing but lovely playing with you, @mahi7781 . With my heart full of pride, I choose to join you in this journey. Thank you India. Jai Hind! (sic)”, stated Raina in his retirement message.

Like Dhoni, Raina also took to social media to break the news of his retirement.

However, he will be playing under Dhoni for Chennai Super Kings in the IPL 2020.

The 33-year-old southpaw has represented India in 18 Tests, 226 One Day Internationals and 72 T20Is, scoring over 7,300 international runs.

Raina stays united with Dhoni not just in Chennai Super Kings, but also in retirement.
