PSL 6: Quetta Gladiators’ Anwar Ali tests positive for Covid-19

In yet another setback for Quetta Gladiators, pacer Anwar Ali has tested positive for Covid-19 and will now not be flying to Abu Dhabi for the remainder of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) sixth edition, which will resume in the first week of June.

After being tested positive, Ali will now isolate in a hotel room in Karachi for at least 10 days, reports espncricinfo.com.

Although he had tested negative before checking into his team hotel in Karachi, he later returned positivein the second test conducted on Monday.

As per the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) schedule, players and support staff of all six franchises will leave for Abu Dhabi on Wednesday, where they will have to quarantine in their hotel rooms for seven days before entering the bio-secure bubble.

Earlier on Monday, Naseem Shah of the Gladiators was expelled from the tournament’s remainder as he had breached the Covid-19 protocol.

Notably, the PSL was indefinately postponed on March 4 after several Covid-19 cases had come to light
