PCB urges New Zealand Cricket for 2 additional T20Is during upcoming series

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has requested New Zealand Cricket (NZC) to play two additional T20I matches when the Kiwis tours the country in September before the World T20 Cup in UAE.

As if now, New Zealand is scheduled to play three One-Day Internationals and as many T20 matches during their Pakistan tour.

However, the NZC is yet to take a call on the request.

Notably, it will be for the first time when the Kiwis visit Pakistan since 2002.

Significantly, the PCB is set to host England, West Indies and Australia apart from New Zealand in the 2021-22 season.

After the Kiwis, England will be touring Pakistan for the first time since 2005-06 for a T20I series in October.

While the West Indies are expected to tour Pakistan in December, Australia is likely to visit in February 2022.

Significntly, between 2010 and 2018, no top-ranked Test side visited Pakistan due to security concerns after the infamous terrorist attack on the Sri Lankan team bus in Lahore in March, 2009.
