ODI series between Pakistan, Afghanistan shifted to SL from UAE

Afghanistan’s three-match ODI series against Pakistan has been shifted to Sri Lanka from the UAE.

The decision was made after the United Arab Emirates (UAE) expressed its unwillingness to host the bilateral series due to the upcoming remainder of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 from September 19 to October 14.

It will also co-host the T20 World Cup in October-November with Oman.

“Yes, we will host the ODI series against Pakistan in Sri Lanka,” Afghanistan Cricket Board media manager Hikmat Hassan was quoted as saying by Cricbuzz.

As per rwports, the bilateral series is likely be played in Hambantota between September 1 and 5.

It will also be the first bilateral series between the two nations.

Till now, the two teams have played each other four times with the Green Brigade emerging victorious in all the affairs.
