New Zealand eyeing to tour Pakistan before T20 World Cup

The Kane Williamson-led New Zealand cricket team is hopeful of touring Pakistan for a white-ball series before the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup this year.

If the tours happens, it will be after a gap of 18 years that the Kiwis tour Pakistan.

In a statement, New Zealamd Cricket (NZC) Chief Executive David White said the New Zealand board was in contact with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and Pakistani government agencies for the tour,

“All going well, ensuring that we satisfy all the security arrangements which I’m confident we will do, we will be touring Pakistan,” he said.

The Kiwis arelooking forward to playing a white-ball series against Pakistan before the T20 World Cup, scheduled to be held in either India or the UAE, as it would be beneficial for both sides before the showpiece event.

Pakistan is scheduled to host England for a T20I series just before the T20 World Cup, in October 2021.

Meanwhile, the Kiwis already have a packed schedule as they are scheduled to tour India before hosting Bangladesh and South Africa for more red-ball matches.
