Neuberg Diagnostics named as official Diagnostics Partner of IPL 2022

Neuberg Diagnostics, one of the top four Pathology lab chains of Indian origin, has now been named as the official diagnostics partner for the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022.

Neuberg has been chosen as one of the official diagnostics partners for Rajasthan Royals (RR), Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Punjab Kings (PBKS) for IPL 2022. This is the second year that Neuberg is partnering with IPL as its diagnostics partner and has already started conducting COVID tests for IPL team members, support staff, and others associated with these teams.

As per the protocol all the players, management team, Television and broadcasting crew, state, and central cricket board members, ground staff, hotel staff, and the event management team are being tested. The tests will be conducted at various hotels where the teams are stationed in the bio bubble and at the stadiums for the other staff members at regular intervals.

Speaking on the development, A Ganesan, Group Vice Chairman, Neuberg Diagnostics Private Limited, said, “Neuberg group is proud to be associated with one of the World’s biggest sporting events – IPL 2022 and will ensure quality testing for the smooth and successful conduct of this tournament.”

Notably, the upcoming IPL season will begin on March 26 and will be played in a bio-secure environment at a single hub to avoid air travel, considered as a major threat for the spread of COVID-19 infection, thereby affecting the players and tournament.

While 55 matches are scheduled to be held in Mumbai, the remaining 15 games will be staged in Pune while the playoffs’ venues haven’t been decided yet. Is most likley that the Narendra Modi Stadium in Motera, Ahmedabad will stage the playoffs however, no official announcement has been made yet.

In the upcoming season, the 10 teams have been divided into two groups. While Group A comprises of Mumbai Indians, Kolkata Knight Riders, Rajasthan Royals, Delhi Capitals and Lucknow Super Giants, Group B includes Chennai Super Kings, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Punjab Kings and Gujarat Titans.

From this year onwards, the lucrative league will be a ten-team affair following the addition of the two new teams – Ahmedabad and Lucknow and will have a total of 74 games.
