LaLiga launches campaign in support of Ukraine named “We team up for Peace”

LaLiga, in collaboration with the 42 clubs of LaLiga Santander and LaLiga SmartBank, is launching the campaign “We team up for Peace”, which is bringing together all the initiatives undertaken by those involved in Spanish professional football to demonstrate a clear rejection of the invasion of Ukraine and a unanimous commitment to peace, with all these efforts outlined on the its website.

Of all the initiatives that form part of the “We team up for Peace” campaign, one fundraising endeavour stands out as this is being organised with the support of all LaLiga Santander and LaLiga SmartBank clubs. They will place posters in their stadiums that contain a QR code, through which fans can quickly and easily access the website where they can make donations to the Red Cross. This will support the humanitarian work the organisation has been carrying out continuously in the territory since the beginning of the invasion.

As well as its presence in all LaLiga stadiums, this campaign will also be promoted during broadcasts of the matches of the competition and through other media and communication channels, in order to maximise the charitable impact as much as possible.

Furthermore, the LaLiga FOUNDATION has made a donation to the cause, one that will go towards the purchase of essential materials.

meanwhile, on the https://www.laliga.com/en-ES/laliga-con-ucrania website, visitors will also find details on the other actions that are currently being worked on, such as the launch of a solidarity auction, where the entirety of the proceeds will go to help the people of Ukraine.

The auction, which is being run in collaboration with MatchWornShirt, will give fans the chance to bid for different items and experiences donated by LaLiga and its clubs, from visits to the boxes of LaLiga Santander stadiums to official kits and other sporting equipment.

LaLiga has ensured that the powerful resource of social visibility that match broadcasts represent is also forming part of this campaign for peace. As such, from LaLiga Santander’s Matchday 26 and LaLiga SmartBank’s Matchday 29 onwards, both the Spanish and international broadcast signals have shown the message “STOP INVASION”, with this seen in more than 185 countries.

That is outlined in detail as part of the “We team up for Peace” campaign, as is LaLiga’s support for its broadcast partner in Ukraine through the waiving of payment for the television rights in the country.

By visiting https://www.laliga.com/en-ES/laliga-con-ucrania it’s also possible to read about the many unique initiatives being worked on by LaLiga Santander and LaLiga SmartBank clubs in order to help alleviate some of the devastating effects the conflict has had on the civilian population.

Many efforts have been made across Spanish professional football, all with the common objective of demonstrating solidarity in response to the humanitarian emergency that the invasion has brought about in Ukraine.
