Lagardère restructures top management; to rebrand

Lagardère Sports and Entertainment has announced a new organizational setup with immediate effect as the global sports marketing agency heads for a rebranding. Within the new framework, the agency will be managed and steered on a global scale by a four-member Executive Committee.

The company is now heading into the rebrand phase, which will be executed and publicly announced at the end of May.

The Executive Committee now consists of Stefan Felsing (Chief Executive Officer), Philipp Hasenbein (Chief Operating Officer), Robert Müller von Vultejus (Chief Growth Officer) and Christian Peters (Chief Financial Officer), Lagardère has stated in a Press note.

The Committee will lead the agency together with the global leadership team with a focus on operational excellence at scale and global growth areas. Within this structure, the global sports marketing agency will leverage its local expertise and long-standing relationships in each continent and country in order to fuel continuous growth and innovation on a global level.

The agency’s further organizational structure is based on geographies. These regions are led by Joel Segal (President Americas), Idriss Akki (President Africa), Adrian Staiti for APAC and Philipp Hasenbein for Europe. Within Europe the three core markets remain France led by Laurent Moretti, UK led by Carl Woodman and Germany (New Management team Germany to be announced soon), whilst the Netherlands, Poland, Hungary, Spain and Denmark are of further additional market relevance in Europe.

Furthermore, continuous global growth and business development are of essential importance for the agency’s future. That is why the new position of a Chief Growth Officer has been created within the agency, which will be held by Robert Müller von Vultejus, who will be leading the dedicated global growth units.

Müller von Vultejuis will be overseeing Global Sales, Media, Olympics and Esports. These units are subsequently led by Michael Bushell (President Olympics) and Nikolaus von Doetinchem (President Media) whilst Adrian Staiti (President Global Sales) and Stephen Marsden (President Global Sales & Olympic Partnerships) lead the company’s unrivalled and unique global sales network, one of the agency’s main growth catalysts. Sales activities in Europe will furthermore be enhanced by the appointment of Carl Woodman as Executive Vice President Sales EMEA.

Stefan Felsing, Chief Executive Officer of Lagardère Sports & Entertainment, explains: “This structural change builds up on our existing core strengths as a truly global company and enables us to accelerate to full speed in terms of smarter, faster and more efficient decision making. It is our ambition to deliver the best value possible towards our clients and partners at all times. We are setting ourselves up for global integration, operational excellence and growth whilst leveraging our specific area and market expertise as foundation of this new way forward. And above all the defined key responsibilities and dedicated business areas within the global leadership team.

Moreover, the agency as a whole is expressing their gratitude and to especially thank David White (former President Media) and Raphael Lombard (former CFO) for their commitment, hard work and business successes in the past years. Whilst Raphael Lombard will leave the company at the end of May, David White will continue to support the agency in the coming months.
