KKR kicks-off quarantine ahead of training camp

Two-time Indian Premier League (IPL) champions Kolkata Knight Riders’ (KKR) players and staff have started arriving for their mandatory seven-day quarantine before they start their training camp for the upcoming season.

KKR posted photos of wicketkeeper-batsman Dinesh Karthik, assistant coach Abhishek Nayar, pacer Kamlesh Nagarkoti and batsman Rahul Tripathi arriving for the start of the quarantine on Sunday.

“IT’S QUARANTIME and the #Knights are checking in for the season! The beginning of the camp is just around the corner…#KKR #HaiTaiyaar #IPL2021,” read KKR’s caption on Twitter.

The IPL 2021 will begin on April 9 with the final scheduled to be played on May 30 and KKR’s first match is in Chennai against SunRisers Hyderabad on April 11.

The BCCI had announced the schedule of IPL 2021 earlier this month.

Defending champions Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore are set to face each other in the opening game in Chennai.

The tournament will be played only at six venues this time around due to COVID-19 cases in the country. To avoid home advantage to any of the teams, all the matches will be played at neutral venues which is a first in the history of the tournament.
