Kane Williamson pulls out of The Hundred

New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson pulled out of upcoming inaugural edition of The Hundred, a 100-ball tournament organised by the England and Wales Cricket Board.

Williamson was contracted with Birmingham Phoenix for 80,000 pounds and has withdrawn due to an elbow injury.

Erlier, Williamson had stayed back in England to play The Hundred after the WTC final against India.

Earlier, the elbow injury had forced him to miss an ODI series against Bangladesh, the start of the IPL and the second Test against England.

His compatriot — Finn Allen has been signed as a replacement in the Birmingham Phoenix.

Meanwhile, Pakistan pacer Shaheen Afridi too, has withdrawn from Birmingham Phoenix, due to the Green Brigde’s international commitments.

Earlier, Australia’s Glenn Maxwell, who was contracted to London Spirit for 100,000 pounds, had also withdraw from the tournament while David Warner and Marcus Stoinis, who were contracted by Southern Brave franchise for 100,000 and 80,000 pounds, have also pulled out.
