IPL SPONSORSHIP: Expo 2020 Dubai stays as Rajasthan Royals lead sponsor

Contrary to speculation the Expo 2020 Dubai will stay as the title sponsor of the Rajasthan Royals for the Indian Premier League Season 13.

Heading to the United Arab Emirates, the Jaipur-based IPL franchisee is in fact well positioned with its sponsorship inventory. A majority of the sponsors has stayed with the team in spite of the COVID-19 economic impact on the brands.

Rajasthan Royals and Dubai Expo have created a record for the team IPL title sponsorship values. The reported ₹25 crore annual commitment by the Dubai Expo is the highest value ever for any team sponsorship in the 13 years of the world’s richest cricket competition.

As the Expo 2020 Dubai was postponed to October 2021, speculation was rife about the Rajasthan Royals title sponsorship.

Despite deferring the event by one year, the ‘Expo 2020 Dubai UAE’ oragnisers have decided to retain the event’s name. Rajasthan Royals team will support the same logo on their match and practice jerseys.

Rajasthan Royals have also retained their other key sponsors and partners like KEI Cables and Wires, Jio, Red Bull, Inox and Alcis Sports among others.

Surya Roshni, which had appeared on the back jersey of the team last year, has not renewed its deal. The partnership was only for one season.

SporzFront has reliably learnt that the team is positioned well to close the deal for the back jersey as well.

The IPL 2020 is scheduled to be played in the UAE from September 19 to November 8.
