IPL 2020: Sanjay Manjrekar is not out of action

The second-generation India cricketer is heard and respected on all matters related to cricket, live commentary included. That is one reason he cannot be kept out of action on a big occasion like the Indian Premier League.

Manjrekar as being reported widely is not in the commentary panel for the upcoming IPL. The opportunity is grabbed by several others with both hands.

Cricket’s leading digital platform ESPN Cricinfo has roped in Manjrekar for the IPL 2020 special shows.

Manjrekar, SportzFront can confirm, is also signing on dotted lines with a prominent Hindi news channel for its IPL special shows. A fantasy cricket brand was also in the closing stages of negotiations with him for the IPL-specific business.

Manjrekar has been among the leading voices during live cricket on Ten Sports, Sony Sports Network and Star Sports.

A veteran of 111 appearances for India in Tests and One Day Internationals, the 55-year-old top-order batsman also enjoys a good fan following as a cricket presenter for his in-depth knowledge and judicious analysis of the game.

The Indian Premier League Season 13 will start on Saturday, September 19, in the UAE when Mumbai Indians will open their title defence against Chennai Super Kings at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi.
