Kevin Pietersen has left the Indian Premier League commentary panel. Former England captain has flown back home, leaving the IPL 2020 assignment at the halfway stage.
He has already reached London to be with his family and kids.
The former IPL player, who represented different teams, will not be able to return for the IPL job this year. Star Sports has created a bio-secure bubble for its entire IPL crew.
Any member leaving the squad will have to complete stay in quarantine before getting back into the bubble. Thus there remains little hope for Pietersen to get back into the bubble as the IPL final is now only three weeks away.
“I left the IPL as it’s half term for my kids and I want to be at home with them. It’s been a strange year, so now they’re off school, I want to be with them all day, everyday,” Pietersen stated in a tweeted message.
