IPL 2020: Fixtures’ announcement delayed yet again

The Board of Control for Cricket in India has yet again delayed the announcement of the Indian Premier League 2020 fixtures but laid all guesswork about the date to declare the schedule to rest.

A section of media had first reported that the fixtures for the IPL Season 13, to start in the UAE from September 19, will be announced on Friday. Seeing no signs of release, some others claimed through “BCCI sources” that the match dates and timings will be announced today (Saturday).

The IPL Governing Council chairman Brijesh Patel cleared the air today that all such reports were nothing but mere guesswork. He has confirmed that the schedule for IPL 2020 will be released on Sunday.

The IPL 2020 will be played in the UAE – at Sharjah, Dubai and Abu Dhabi – from September 10 to November 10 under a bio-secure bubble.

The teams have started gearing up for the league after completing their mandatory quarantine on arrival in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

The IPL has been shifted to the UAE due to the spread of novel coronavirus cases in India.
