IPL 2020: CSK’s Ruturaj Gaikwad also tests positive for COVID-19

The Indian Premier League 2020 has not started on an ominous note for the Chennai Super Kings. The team that has been most comfortable on the commercial front with the 100% sponsorship inventory blocked, is finding the ground reality really harsh.

A day after the biggest COVID-19 setbacks for Indian cricket and the IPL when more than 10 members of the CSK IPL camp were reported to be COVID-19 infection, yet another team member Ruturaj Gaekwad is confirmed with the novel coronavirus infection.

Ruturaj Gaikwad has also reportedly tested positive for the coronavirus in Dubai, where CSK are based for the IPL 2020.

Young Gaikwad could well fit into the CSK plans to replace Raina after the vice-captain is ruled out of the IPL 2020. The 23-year-old middle-order batsman has scored at a 135.31 strike rate in the 28 official T20 games he has played to date.
