IPL 2020: Chahar confident of joining action soon

Chennai Super Kings medium-pacer Deepak Chahar is optimistic about joining the action soon after recovering from the COVID-19 infection. He has “recovered well”.

Chahar, who had tested positive for novel coronavirus along with Ruturaj Gaekwad and 11 other contingent members has exuded confidence that he will be back in action soon.

He took to Twitter to express his gratitude towards fans and share his health update.

“Thank you so much for your lovely wishes and prayers. I have recovered well and hopefully will be in action soon,” Chahar said in a video posted on his official Twitter handle @deepak_chahar9.

Chennai Super Kings had landed in trouble a day before starting their training in Dubai after the six-day quarantine. Chahar, Gaekwad and 11 other members of the touring party were diagnosed with the COVID-19 infection, while Suresh Raina rushed back home “for personal reasons”. Veteran off-spinner Harbhajan Singh, who had stayed back in India due to his mother’s ill health, is yet to join the squad in the UAE.

However, there is some good news for the CSK camp. All the other members of the contingent, who were again tested for COVID-19, have got negative reports. Those tested positive earlier will take another text over the next few days.

Meanwhile, the remaining CSK squad is expected to start their training from Friday, September 4.

The team had been confined to their hotel rooms ever since their arrival in the UAE on August 22.
