IPL 2020 anthem #AyengeHumWapas instant hit with fans

The Indian Premier League anthem #AyengeHumeWapas, driving home the positive message of re-emergence from the COVID-19 challenge, has been an instant hit with the fans.

The anthem, released alongside the IPL 2020 schedule on Sunday, has registered nearly 4 lakh hits on Twitter alone.

The rap #AyengeHumWapas is an inspiring 93-second video that instills the confidence of bouncing back from the COVID-19 pandemic that has infected more than 2.6-crore people in more than 210 countries worldwide.

IPL, even when being played at an offshore venue, brings hope not just to the nation of 130 crore people, but cricket fans across the world.

The BCCI has shared the song on the official IPL Twitter handle with a message, “The greater the setback. The stronger the comeback. We can sum it up in 3 words: AayengeHumWapas, Watch #Dream11IPL starting Sept 19 on @DisneyPlusHS, @StarSportsIndia @Hotstarusa #Dream11IPL #AayengeHumWapas #StrongerTogether  #Anthem”

The 93-second video features the leading stars who for years have been graving the league with their exceptional talent.

The video along with the stars like Virat Kohli, MS Dhoni, Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah, KL Rahul, and many other players, also features a host of fans to depict the mood of the nation.

The IPL this year is being staged in the UAW – Sharjah, Dubai and Abu Dhabi – from September 19 to November 10 since the novel coronavirus pandemic made it difficult to conduct the 53-day, 60 match tournament in India with the number of daily cases rising up to 90,000.

Chennai Super Kings will face defending champions Mumbai Indians in the tournament on Saturday, September 19. Also for the first time, the evening games will start at 7:30 pm IST instead of the traditional 8:00 pm start.
