FC Goa signs 1Xnews as Principal Front of Shirt Sponsor for ISL 2021-22

Indian Super League (ISL) franchise FC Goa on Tuesday announce to have signed 1Xnews as the club’s Principal Title Sponsor for the ongoing 2021-22 season of the league.

As part of the tie-up, 1Xnews will appear on the chest of the club shirt and training wear throughout the course of the season.

1Xnews will also be featured in various social media graphics, and on ground advertising across every live FC Goa game, on all platforms that broadcast the Hero ISL. This partnership will also fuel the club’s social media presence.

A leading online news portal, this will be 1Xnews’ first foray into Indian football. With an aim to further popularise Indian football 1Xnews will be providing footballing news and updates as the Gaurs look to reclaim the ISL League Winners Shield and get their hands on their first ISL title.

Commenting on the development, Akshay Tandon, FC Goa’s President said: “I’m delighted to be able to announce our new partnership with 1Xnews. The partnership shows the growth of the Club and the League. They are a reputable brand and share our vision of growth.”

The front-of-shirt sponsorship is vitally important to the Club. And we believe that this partnership will help us make even more tangible contributions to Indian football,” he added.

On the other hand, Harish Kapoor, Marketing Lead India 1Xnews said: “We are excited to announce that we are FC Goa’s shirt sponsor this season. In FC Goa, we found a brand that was as modern and proactive in their approach as we are. We believe that this relationship will pay huge dividends to both of us.

Earlier on Novemebr 22, FC Goa had signed Tata Punch, a subcompact crossover SUV manufactured by Tata Motors, as the club’s Principal Sponsor for the ongoing 2021-22 season of the Hero ISL.

Notably, FC Goa is the current holder of the Super Cup. Nicknamed the Gaurs, FC Goa has been one of the most consistently successful teams in the ISL – reaching 4 semi-finals and 2 finals in 7 seasons.

In Season 2019-20, the club won the Hero ISL League Winners Shield, by finishing top of the table in the league stages and became the first-ever club from India to play in the group stages of the AFC Champions League in April 2021.

Co-owned by Jaydev Mody, Akshay Tandon and Virat Kohli, FC Goa is one of the few Indian Clubs to have a complete youth development ecosystem. Its U14, U16, U18 and Developmental Teams compete at the highest levels in Goa and India. The system has produced recognizable talents like Liston Colaco, Saviour Gama, Princeton Rebello and many more.
