Bangladesh national team player, support staff test positive for COVID

Novel coronavirus has breached into the Bangladesh national cricket team. Batsman Saif Hassan and new strength and conditioning coach have been reported positive for COVID-19.

Bangladesh Cricket Board had conducted routine tests on the team and support staff as the team will be assembling for a camp ahead of their tour to Sri Lanka during October-November.

The Test squad is scheduled to leave for Sri Lanka on September 27.

Hassan, who made his Test debut earlier this year, and Lee have been put under isolation.

“Our consultant for COVID-19 is reviewing Lee’s case to determine whether it is a new or previous infection before advising on the management plan,” Bangladesh Cricket Board’s (BCB) sports physician Dr Debashis Chowdhury has told ESPNcricinfo.

Meanwhile, the BCB is also planning to have an indoor camp at the team hotel in Dhaka.
