Afghanistan Cricket Board CEO Stanikzai sacked

Afghanistan Cricket Board has terminated the contract of Chief Executive Officer in a very unceremonious manner with serious allegations over his performance and conduct. The board while releasing  the news of the CEO’s removal on its official website has also published the copy of the termination letter.

Lutfullah Stanikzai, the Afghanistan Cricket Board CEO has been terminated from his position. An official termination notice issued by the office of the ACB Chairman on Monday, ACB has stated.

The reasons of Stanikzai’s termination, as the letter mentions, were the mismanagement, unsatisfactory performance and his misbehaviour with the board managers.

ACB LETTER

Farhan Yousefzai, the Chairman of the ACB taking serious notice of the misconducts, terminated Stanikzai of the CEO position and advised him to hand over the entire documents and equipment to the board by July 29, 2020.

This is worth mentioning here that Stanekzai had been previously issued verbal and written warnings, stated the board.

The post of Executive Director of the Cricket Board will be announced through open competition and a suitable candidate will be selected keeping in view the principles and policies of human resources  of the board.

Sources in the know of things have suggested that Inamullah Shirzad could replace Stanikzai, even though there’s no official word, adds the Sportstar.

The ACB also terminated the contract of its former domestic manager Hasti Gul Abed after he was convicted of falsification of documents and embezzlement during the 2018 Ghazi Amanullah Khan List-A tournament. Abed had previously served at various posts including ACB’s domestic cricket manager for an extended period of time and had confessed and accepted the allegations levied against him.
