Amway India signs Tokyo Olympics’ silver medallist Mirabai Chanu as brand ambassador.

Amway India, a wholly owned subsidiary of Amway Corporation, has announced to rope in Tokyo Olympics’ silver medallist Mirabai Chanu as its brand ambassador after which the ace weightlifter will be the face of the company and its Nutrilite products such as Nutrilite Daily, Omega and All Plant Protein among others.

Chanu had bagged silver in the 49 kg category of the recently held Tokyo Games with a total lift of 202 kg. With it, she became the first Indian weightlifter to win silver at the Olympics and the second Indian weightlifter after Karnam Malleswari to win an Olympic medal.

Meanwhile, a new Olympic record was also registered by Chanu with a successful lift of 115 kg in clean and jerk.

Notably, Chanu’s win had ensured India its first medal at the Tokyo Olympics.

After the historic medal, Manipur Chief Minister N. Biren Singh had announced an award of Rs 1 crore for Chanu while Indian Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced an award of Rs 2 crore beside a promotion for her.
