Three days after India all-rounder Krunal Pandya tested positive for Covid-19, his teammates and spinners Yuzvendra Chahal and K Gowtham have also reportedly returned positive for the virus.
The eight players who were in close contact with Krunal were Prithvi Shaw, Suryakumar Yadav, Hardik Pandya, Yuzvendra Chahal, Deepak Chahar, Manish Pandey, Ishan Kishan, and K Gowtham.
As a result, all these players had to miss the remainder of the T20I series against Sri Lanka, which the hosts won 2-1.
Now along with Krunal, who had tested positive on Tuesday, Gowtham and Chahal will also have to stay back in Colombo till they complete their isolation period and return negative.
Earlier, the Shikhar Dhawan-led Men In Blue had won the ODI series 2-1.
