SL batting coach Grant Flower tests positive for Covid

Sri Lanka batting coach Grant Flower has returned positive for Covid-19, the island nation’s board has confirmed.

“He was found to be positive during a PCR test carried out on him today when Flower showed mild symptoms of the disease,” the Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) said in an official statement.

Immediately after the development, Flower was isolated from the rest of the players and other coaches.

The team members are currently undergoing quarantine following their return from England on Tuesday, where they had lost both the ODI and T20I series.

Earlier, three England players had tested positive for Covid-19.

The islanders last played against England in three ODIs and three T20Is and the cricketers entered the bubble right away after returning as India’s limited-overs squad is already in Sri Lanka for two white-ball series, starting July 13 in Colombo.
