Mushfiqur Rahim pulls out of Zimbabwe T20Is due to bubble fatigue

Ace Bangladesh wicketkeeper-batsman Mushfiqur Rahim has decided to pull out of the upcoming Twenty20 International series against Zimbabwe, slated to be played next month due to bubble fatigue.

The veteran stumper however, will be available for the Tests and One-Day Internationals against Zimbabwe.

Confirming the development to Cricbuzz, Bangladesh chief selector Minhajul Abedin said: “Mushfiqur called me today and wanted to opt out from the T20 series against Zimbabwe,.”

Minhajul said that bio-bubble fatigue has been tough on the players and was a reason for Mushfiqur to pull out and remain fresh for the upcoming games against Australia and New Zealand.

“We are yet to take a decision in this regard but we must respect their decisions in such cases,” he added.

Earlier, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) had said that they will be playing a Test lesser than planned on their Zimbabwe tour to accommodate an additional T20I.

Notably, the visitors were initially scheduled to play two Tests along with three ODIs and two T20Is.
